So, last night while I was typing up my post I had a friend come visit. He and I were chatting and I turned to face him and my elbow knocked my glass of water right onto the keyboard of my macbook. 🙁 there wasn’t a ton of water, and I immediately turned the computer off, placed a towel in between the keyboard and flipped it over. It’s been off ever since. (I’m coming at you via blackberry) however, I want your advice?!? Any tips on how to save my baby from being broken. I’ve read random things like don’t turn it on for a week or put it in a bag with some rice, but I don’t know what to do! I keep people healthy, not computers!! Give me your best! I need it! 🙁

I would try the rice. We have tried that at work with some of our electronic equipment and it worked! Good luck!
OH NO! I might cry too! I’m not a tech-y, maybe call a local Best Buy or Geek Squad and see what they say?? I’m sorry, hope you get it working soon!!!
I’ve heard the rice thing before too but have no idea! I hope everything turns out o.k.! I would totally cry! Especially if there were pictures on there!
i did that with coffee!! Turn it over and pace your computer upside down on a towel. Don’t touch it for 24 hours. Let it dry and take out the battery ASAP!
I have no advice for you but I am so so sorry and I love you. I am seriously frowning as I type this.
I knocked red wine on mine one time and rice bagged it for a week which worked!
Good luck!!!
Oh no! I have no idea how to fix it, but I hope you get it up and working soon!
I washed Blake’s itouch in some shorts in the washing machine and stuck it in a cup of rice for a week and it sucks the water out. It worked perfect after that! Worth a try! So sorry that stinks!
Whatever you do, resist the urge to turn it on! Rice bag it and walk away for at least 3 days. Good luck!
i would cry, i would cry, ah! i hope you can save it!
our house flooded and water dripped on our computer for hours without us being there…we immediately took it and put it in the bathroom with a space heater all night. it ended up being fine.
eeek! i know nothing about saving computers but I would be lost without mine…I hope it turns out okay!
oh no! i hate that this happened to you. the rice thing has to happen real quick after the water hits the keyboard. do you have insurance on it? (probably not or you wouldn’t be crying … as hard). good luck.
OH NO! Good luck…. I once spilled a bit in the keyboard of my laptop and had to use an electric fan pointed at it to clean it all out. I don’t know how much time has elapsed though and whether or not this would even help :-\
Hope it can pull through!
